The Purpose of Embodied Presence Sessions
The main intent of the Art and Skill of Living Awake is to help people like you awaken to the truth about reality, who and what you are, and to embody the peace, freedom and fulfillment of this realization in your daily life.
The first step in this awakening is to have a direct experience of seeing through the veil of thoughts and beliefs. Specifically, your limiting thoughts and beliefs about Reality and what and who you are.
Embodied Presence is a safe and effective way to taste this seeing within a 90 minute session. Through this guided process, you’ll experience directly, and gently, what it’s like to see beyond the veil of thoughts and beliefs using nothing but your own powers of attention and awareness. This is important because authentic awakening is not something someone else can give you or take away from you. It’s seeing for yourself the Truth of what is and what you already are. What is Embodied Presence?

Embodied presence is a 90-minute gentle, touch-free, guided body-mind awareness process where you (ideally) lay flat on your back with your palms up.* It is an effortless experience where pain and constriction in the body and mind gently dissolve. Where you truly experience the Here-and-Now in a full, rich embodied way, and all worry ceases. In addition, the Embodied Presence is so simple you can learn to do it on your own in a relatively short time.
* Adjustments to your position will always be made to serve your ease and comfort, even if it means sitting up or putting a pillow under your knees).
Do I have to visualize or use my imagination?
No. Embodied Presence does NOT rely on any imagination or visualization. As Dr. Richard Shane, PHD and the developer of Sleep Easily said after his session:
